Maybe it was like last year when Cheryl was having a fight with herself on which single to release (between FFTL, parachute and 3 words) and this was one of the contenders so she decided Promise this first and the flood second.

There's no doubt papers will link the lyrics to her marriage with a certain footballer. Haters will have a field day saying that she is exploiting the divorce... But hey, people talking about the song + press = publicity = free promotion = a higher chart position for Cheryl. Clever strategy!

Not too excited by this yet, I hope it doesn't turn out to be your everyday ballad... I'll be more excited once we get to hear the song & after the initial buzz about Promise This is over.

I can't wait to hear this. The lyrics sound good, no larks or plucking!

I don't get why anyone would have a problem with Cheryl singing songs about Ashley.... she got married to the man, clearly loved him, considered starting a family with him then he cheated on her with a load of ugly slags. It's obviously going to impact her life and hence her music.

I'm excited to hear her sing a ballad as well. Personally I think 'Didn't I' is one of her best songs and I've never heard her sing as well as she did when she sang 'Set The Fire To The Third Bar'.

Looking forward to hearing this song I think it will have the "messy little raindrops" in it aswell

We don't know if this song is about assface the papers are saying it is but they have also said Promise This is about malaria and now its about derek apparently I'm not bothered what the songs about though just whether I enjoy listening to it or not :mrgreen:

Is it just me, or are the names on this album MUCH better than that of the last album? Messy Little Raindrops. Promise This. The Flood. They all seem so good and interesting. Those last album track names were booooringggg.
