Regardless of how much she is getting paid, I think that's it now, she is doing it. I mean she even canceled a 3rd single.

Wish they'd hurry up its getting so boring.
In the coming weeks? I really am actually over this at the moment. First it was "a few weeks" back in December, then at the NTAs it was "within 2 weeks" and now its "In the coming weeks"?

Theres a difference between being a tease and keeping people interested and annoying the hell out of them
The hype has mostly been down to the press up until now. Simon/Syco/FremantleMedia have very little control over that, so now that they're in control of when to release information, I can understand why they'd take their time to make sure the announcements are made at the perfect moments. I mean, that's what it comes down to; timing. The ads being played during the Super Bowl was ideal, with over 100 million viewers - it's the start to the real build up.

As for it being boring, I think they're well aware that a lot of people are on tenterhooks, waiting for the judges to be revealed. It might be tedious, particularly for fans of the show and/or Cheryl, but the majority of people - Americans - would've merely been reminded of the upcoming series starting. I wouldn't be surprised if it was another two weeks or something before they announce the judges... Actually, it wouldn't even shock me if they chose to announce one judge at a time.

I did watch an interview that his exgirlfriend did to him at the end of Novermber for Xtra and she asked him about an announcement and he said I will make one in about 4 weeks, so that would have been at the end of December, we are in February now and... nothing yet...

To be fair, it doesn't matter if people in the UK are fed up of waiting to see who the judges will be, it's an American show and they need to build the hype up over there, so if that means dragging the promo out to build up anticipation, they'll do it.

I Get they need to build it up etc but they could still build up the hype even if they'd announce a date of when they will release the names of the judges, not saying "around 4 weeks" then adding another "around 2 weeks" and so on.

that`s true!!
In america no one knows about X Factor, it`s all about american idol... I was there in december and none of my friends knew about that show... Plus, they NEED good people to audition, the talent it`s a big part of what keeps people interesting on the show. They need to get as much attention to the show as posible to get people to audition (and to get people to go see the auditions)...
In my opinion, Simon doesn`t have YET the line up of jugdes... let`s wait and see...

He didn't say anything about the judges at the NTAs.

But I KNEW they wouldn't announce the judges this soon anyway. But announcing that the contract is gonna be $5 million isnt exactly big news either.

I reckon they will announce the judges about 2 weeks before they start filming the auditions, so don't expect it to be anytime soon. Beginning or second week of March perhaps.

While I agree with this in regards to the US promo, there is also a balance needed since it obviously impacts the UK show. The hype for the show in the US is going to be distinguishing itself from AI, and The Voice. Who the judges are is just the crowning point.

If she gets the job then she'll be out of the UK for a long time won't she?

yeah that's the downside, one half of me wants her to get it, the other wants her to stay here.

Not necessarily. During the audition process she will, but it depends on what she decides to do. If she's doing the UK show, she'll be flying back and forth a lot.

I don't want her to do both. I'd rather her do the UK version and promote herself in the US then become a judge. It's a very risky decision their taking but I'm sure they'll have a few tricks up their sleeves if they really want it to work out.
