Harding: 'Girls Aloud are still together'

Sarah Harding has insisted that Girls Aloud are "still" together.

The engaged singer hit out at reports about the girl group, branding claims of a split "b*llocks".

"We're very much still a group," The Mirror quotes her as saying. "Nadine [Coyle] lives on the other side of the Atlantic so it's not like we can pop over every five minutes for a cup of tea.

"What can you do? At the end of the day we see her when we see her or whatever."

Harding added: "She's always been a bit of a free spirit."

Her bandmate Kimberley Walsh previously dismissed reports that the group are planning to reunite for a world tour next year.

I'd be happy enough with a few new pictures of them ALL together. Or at least Nadine and one of the others. Cos at the minute I'm really not convinced.

atomic kitten and destiny's child are still together...I don't care they have never officialy split if they're not releasing any music, it's the same to me as if they split.

looks like the same thing is happening with GA

I've totally lost interest in them as a band now anyway... I still love them all and obvs im gon' support them on solo projects, but they've lost a 'girls aloud' fan now.

I don't see them ever re-forming, and if they do, I really can't see myself being excited about it. I can just imagine myself going "Oh wow! Good song" and then going back to The Saturdays shizz. Idk. I've just lost the love.

But thats just me idk

tbh even if they didnt come back i wouldnt be as bothered as i was.. but if they did yeah ofcourse i'll support& love them, but atm im happy with them doing there solo projects:].

Gosh I still have some hope, even if that has slighty fade away. I want concrete stuff, not just words, but I'm beginning to think my prayer won't be heard for quite a long time. They are all busy. Prove me wrong girls, please! :drama:

I cant wait them for to be back, i am still a fan but it'll never be the same now that what has happenned with cheryl. We will never see album after album after album for the foreseeable future. We'd be lucky to get a album after each break like they said.

I think there comeback will be huge btw!  :mrgreen:

To keep their brand alive
To keep the opition of a backup should there solo careers fail
To not upset the fans

In their own heads they've split/on a break but i think they do want to come back but dont know when! :?
there's nothing to gain from splitting officially unless they all hate each other which we know is not true.

It makes sense, what happenned when Steps, S Club etc split and said they did
The fans left them and found other groups and the media stopped caring about the least famous members.
It makes sense - it keeps 'the brand alive' and it works all five still grace mag covers and news headlines not the case when similar bands split officially.

Yeah I see your point!
I meant that in my opinion, that had little sense to stay a band if they're not releasing music because that's THE thing so great about GA (don't care too much about magazines or films or tv shows or whatever). I should have mentionned more clearly it was my view upon things. I'm being selfish here :lol:, I understand the thing from GA perspective though.

As for upsetting the fans, I think some of us will be more upset if being "lied" to, I mean, when they announced their hiatus, we all agreed they'd be back together to make new sound and if that doesn't happen at all...

Anyway I try to keep hope. :)

The girls (well, some of them) expressed their disagreement with the idea of bands announcing that they're splitting and upsetting their fans, just to announce a few years later that they're coming back.
I believe that they haven't discussed whether they're coming back or not, and they can't tell the fans what's going to happen because they don't even know. It's a way to keep the option open without going through the whole circus of splitting/reforming.
I do think that they shouldn't have said it was only a one-year break. It would've been upsetting to hear 'we don't know if/when we'll be back', but at least they would've been honest with the fans.

i guess from a positive point of view, at least their official website is still updated....that might be a glimmer of hope that one day they will get back together...
