It's very possible the images are supposed to have that grainy look. I definitely agree with what you are saying though. All the pictures are really soft so I can imagine them trying to have an older look.

I think that's the kind of look that they were going for, amost like an old 1960's style or something 

It makes them a lot more difficult to scan though. I'd only only done the cover, January and February before when I stopped because Feb looked so bad then the other day I done March , April and then stopped on May because it looks even worse than Feb

Yeah all the pictures have a period feel, I'm not sure what periods they are thinking of or referencing, but I think that's why they have a grainy look. It's not like they suddenly don't have the money to use a better camera or anything.

now that i've really looked at them, i like alot of her body positions and the theme of the pictures, but zoomed in, as beauty shots they are a little disappointing bar the back cover and may and a few others

Managed to get a copy of Cheryl's 2012 calendar from my local HMV store today for £1....
