THE GIRLS ALOUD 10TH ANNIVERSARY FANBOOK:1. Because of the girls' 10th anniversary approaching next year I thought i't'd be nice if we did a little something for them like a fanbook! The fanbook can contain letters from the fans to the girls. In your letter you can say why the girls inspire you and how their music cheers you up,etc... In your letter you can also include photos of when you met the girls and your experience(you can include all this in your letter) A letter should be around 2 pages(front and back of page). Each GA member will have a seperate section dedicated to them so the letters won't be all packed in together
2. I'm also working on a video site that will be strictly for this fanbook. On the website fans will be able to upload video msgs for Girls Aloud. for Cheryl. The video will be mentioned in the fanbook so they'll will be able to view the site and check out all the fans' msgs. If you don't have a webcam,then write a letter instead. However,it would be preferable that you do both a video msg and and a letter for Cheryl
3. The front of the fanbook will be designed with pictures of the girls from various photshoots or out and about. Inside there will also be photos showing them throughout their years. From Popstars:The Rivals to the present day. An official facebook page for the fanbook will be shortly set up. I need graphics/banners designed for the front of the fanbook(can be any design of the girls you like provided it's an edit of them all) Anyone who wants to enter can just add their photo to the Facebook page. A competition wil then be held. The graphics(aiming for about 10 or more maybe - the book will be quite big) with the most likes will be then put on the front cover of the fanbook
4. There'll be a specific section in the book for the Twitter fanpages anand websites dedicated to the girls. Each girl,as with the letters, will have seperate pages dedicated t them for the twitter fanpages and websites. Both will be included in one section. All you have to do is take a screenshot of the fanpage,email it to the fanbook address and include in your email a little bit about the fanpage,how many followers and the work you do for it
SPECIAL GIRLS ALOUD MERCHANDISE:I've been thinking of maybe getting some tshirts made for the anniversary that maybe says something like "Celebrating 10 years of Girls Aloud" and underneath would be a picture of the girls. I know some websites that do them for fairly cheap prices. Fans could then order the tshirts and take a picture of themselves wearing the shirt for the fanbook. These photos would go under the section in the book to be entitled:
FANS PHOTOS I was also going to see about getting mugs or something made or just some special unique merchandise to celebrate the anniversary but I'm still working on that. If you have any ideas though,feel free to mention it on this thread
DOWNLOADING THE GIRLS' ALBUMS/SINGLESA fan suggested this to me,however I'm not sure if this would be going ahead,it'd depend what people would think or how well it would go to plan. Basically,during anniversary week Girls Aloud fans would download a specific Girls Aloud song and buy a specific album. The plan would be to boost both the chosen album and single up the chart to see how far we could get it for their anniversary week. If people warmed to the idea then a poll would be put on the site for the fanbook with both singles and albums. The single and album with the most votes would be the one fans would download during anniversary week. However,because December is the worst time to try and get singles into the chart. I was thinking maybe late November would be better.
I know it's more than a year away but if you think about it it really is a huge thing to do and would take loads of planning if we want to be great
Especially with the video site idea. And also obviously for downloading we'd need loads and memmbers and more than a year gives us enough of time. And also,I know it's a loooong time to wait but the longer away it is the more excited everyone will be around this time next year when there's only 4 months to the big 10th anniversary
I'm going to try and get the fanbook to the girls as a Christmas present,I can promise it will get to them. I'm going to get in contact with the head of Polydor,Fascination,Sundradj,basically everyone connected to Girls Aloud to gurantee it'll get to them.
What does everyone think? I'd love to know
