Cheryl Cole back to her best in New York (Mentions Solo tour!)
« on: October 02, 2011, 08:11:50 AM »
i don't know how much truth this has in it .. but here ..
i'm posting it because of the solo tour mention.

thoughts?

Cheryl Cole looks really chipper... tucking into fries as she plans a pop comeback over lunch in New York.

The former X Factor judge, 28, seemed to put her troubles behind her as she relished every bite of her chips with salad.

The Girls Aloud star looked happy and relaxed in a white sweatshirt and grey combats as she happily chatted with her male companion, a senior member of the new management team lined up for her by Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am.

Cheryl has been telling friends she feels “happier than ever” as she concentrates on her solo career.

She has been working on her new album with top producers including UK DJ Alex Da Kid, and believes it will be her best yet. After its release early next year she will gear up for a UK stadium tour – by far her biggest challenge as a solo artist.

All this has given her a much-needed boost after she was dumped from US X Factor and split from love-rat ex-husband Ashley Cole for a second time.

Last night a pal said: “Cheryl has had a very tough year, but over the last few weeks she really has started to come out of herself again.

“Her confidence is flooding back and she’s surrounding herself with people who have her best interests at heart. Will.i.am is lining her up with some of the best people in the industry to work with and is making sure she’s brilliantly looked after.

“She’s back in the studio doing what she loves most, which is making music. The album’s shaping up brilliantly and Cheryl feels it’s her best material ever.

“And she’s absolutely buzzing at the prospect of a stadium tour. She wants to give something back to her UK fans who’ve supported her over the last year.”

The Girls Aloud star has also flown to Hollywood to film a cameo role in upcoming film What To Expect When You’re Expecting.

But she will be interrupting her US adventure to return to the UK for tomorrow’s Daily Mirror Pride of Britain awards.

The press also said she was doing a tour in 2010 which didn't happen.

I think she would have toured in 2011 if it wasn't for the whole X Factor debacle. I hope there's an element of truth to this although it wouldn't be a stadium tour. An arena tour would be great though. Or an arena one with a stadium date in Newcastle or something. I'd love to see her do a solo tour before getting back with the girls.

She's always said she wants to tour. I suppose the only thing she's doing now is her music.

An arena holds up to about 22,000 With the O2 arena and Manchester's M.E.N being the biggest two in the country. Some hold 10,000 Like Liverpool's Echo Arena.

An Arena can hold up to about 70,000 I think such as Wembly Stadium and Manchester's Stadium forgot what its called now but you get the picture.

Edit.

Manchester M.E.N Arena Holds - 23,000 Vs. Manchester Old Trafford Stadium Holds - 76,000
London O2 Arena Holds - 20,000 Vs. Wembley Stadium Holds - 90,000

Difference is they hold a lot more than arenas and they are usually open air concerts so no roof.

And I for one wouldn't want a stadium tour anyway (not that anyone cares I'm sure...lol). Give me an arena any day of the week. An arena may not be the most intimate venue in the world, but next to a stadium? Far superior in every way. Event gigs work well in stadiums because they're more about the atmosphere than actually being able to see and enjoy the show. But if Cheryl does a solo tour, I actually want to be able to see her on the stage without having to watch big screens.

Thank you, I think I prefer small venues too, 70,000 people in the same place at the same time sounds scary.

Yes, arenas all the way, and sometimes even that is big... I wouldn't mind a theatre tour if they do it right (ala Katy Perry in the UK)

Nah, not a theater too. I know it's more intimate but I'd like to see a huge production like the Tangled Up/Out of Control Tour. She could rock a stage like that.

Arenas except for the WWTNS tour, that was a theater tour.

Did GA do arenas or stadiums?

The only time GA did stadiums was when they opened up for Coldplay for two nights.

not that it matters for me cuz I live outside the UK but if I could go I would rather it be arena. I love a huge production but I would want to be able to actually see her

30/11/11 Cheryl tweeted me!
